When facing criticism, there are three possible reactions: accept it, ignore it, or refute it. But
when it comes to Islam, the first option is void, since any criticism towards the religion that Allah
has chosen for his servants is futile (However, it is important to note the difference between
Islam and Muslims). Therefore, ignoring it or answering it are your choices.
Now, what is happening in Sweden is different, it is not criticism that is in play, but insult and
hatred. When dealing with these issues, there are multiple ways to deal with it, and it is not for
anyone to judge them except Allah. The reason, they have all been used in the past and are
sanctioned in Islam.
First off, there can be political force. Whether protests in Sweden or abroad, it does have an
influence, but it is limited. Predominantly Muslim countries could sever ties with the countries
that support these actions. But don’t hold your breath for any concrete action except for speech
(if even). The best way is for people abroad to boycott their products. It’s been over two years I
have not bought a French product and it has been almost a year since buying Swedish stuff
(since hearing about all the destruction the “Social” has done mostly to Muslim families). Some
might say, why target a country for the actions of individuals? That is the whole point, the
individual wasn’t stopped, he wasn’t given a fine, he didn’t go to jail or even show up in court.
He actually has a police escort to protect his “Free Speech”. That is why the government is
responsible.
It is actually illegal in Sweden to engage in any action that incites hates or targets a specific
community. Apparently voicing your unacceptance of the actions of the LGBTQLMNOP
communitiesssss as a Muslim is not allowed, but burning the Quran is A.O.K.?!?!? What would
happen if someone decided to burn the Swedish flag, you will at least get a fine for disorderly
conduct.
There is nothing new about all this. Anything against Islam and Muslims in the world is good.
Conscripting Muslims in the Russian army to fight and be used as cannon feed in the Ukraine is
wise war tactics. To humiliatingly portray the Prophet Muhammad in France, who is objectively
the greatest human in history, is freedom of expression. Any reasoning the European man has is
subjective to their desires and are baseless on any moral grounds. That is the European way of
thinking.
Alhamdulillah, we are Muslim, even though the Bible is a total distortion of what was revealed
to past prophets, we would not burn it, nor desecrate it… Why? Because Allah ordered us not to
do so. We should not insult anyone’s religion. With that said, we cannot, should not and will
never agree with any other religion besides Islam. It is the Truth!
Anyways, whatever action one poses, he must find it present in Islam, have a sincere intention
towards Allah, and somehow benefit Muslims, in a short- or long-term manner. Personally,
when dealing with someone ignorant or arrogant, it is wise to relativize their actions, replace
the thigs in play with things that are dear to them. Yet that only works for non-idiots. As for
idiots, I take my grandfather’s advice:
“If you were to throw a stone at every dog that barked, stones would be worth as much as
gold.”
In sum, reply sternly, rightfully, unapologetically, and ignore.
So, for one last bit of advice: never argue with an idiot, he brings you down to his level and beats
you by experience. So don’t give him any gold, it will only encourage him, and become the next
cause celebre of the Far-right and liberal atheists (it’s amazing how they join hands when it
comes to hate Islam).
